Please join Circle Forming for a Lammas Potluck Picnic and Welcome Circle on Sunday, August 6th at 12 noon at Onteora Lake State Park.
Directions to Onteora Lake State Park:
Take Route 28 North out of the traffic circle in Kingston
Go 4 miles. It's the first turn on the right, less than a mile, up the hill and around a curve from THE DOLL HOUSE. Look for a brown wooden sign with yellow lettering.
The potluck picnic will begin at noon, the circle, for those who want to stay, will begin promptly at 1:30. Please plan to attend both events so we can get to know each other before the circle. Please understand that for magical reasons we will not admit anyone to the circle once it has begun.
Feel free to bring other people who are seriously interested in participating in a pagan circle. Please do not bring people who want to be spectators, children, or pets.
Please bring a potluck dish to share with about 10 people. Something related to the holiday, such as seasonal produce or fresh bread is nice, but by no means necessary. Bring what you want to eat! Also bring the usual things to make yourself comfortable at a picnic, such as a blanket to sit on. There is a lake, so if you like to swim, bring the things appropriate to that activity. (There isn’t anywhere to change your clothes except a porta-potty.) As far as ritual garments go, what you have on is good. As far as ritual tools go, bring what you like or nothing at all.
We will send you an outline of the ritual before hand, so you have a clue what is going to happen, the better to have the circle run smoothly.
